In just a few short years, Gabrielle Union
has managed to build up an impressive resume. Last year,
she graced the inaugural cover of
Savoy Magazine, which described
Union as “Hollywood’s
Best Kept Secret” and marks
her “The Next Julia Roberts”. In addition, she has just been
selected as Entertainment Weekly’s, “IT Girl”,
People Magazine’s “One’s
To Watch”, E’s! “Sizzling 16”,
and Vogue’s “Next

Most recently, Union completed filming The
Honeymooner’s for Paramount. She stars as
‘Alice’ the wife of Ralph who is played by Cedric
The Entertainer. Also starring Regina Hall (Trixie) and
Mike Epps (Al). The movie is based on the 1950’s
hit television series and will be released Summer 2005.
Union recently starred opposite Will Smith
and Martin Lawrence in the long-anticipated sequel Bad Boys 2. The
feature film is was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed
by Michael Bay for Columbia. Union stars as ‘Sydney
Burnett’, the half-sister to Lawrence’s character,
Marcus Burnett. She also is the love interest to Will
Smith’s character, Mike, who repeatedly tries to charm
and seduce her, causing friction between him and his partner.
Although Sydney claims to have a desk job, she is really
an undercover agent pretending to launder dirty money.
Union is best known for her starring role
in Universal’s feature film, Bring
It On for
director Peyton Reed. The film stars Kirsten Dunst and
Union who are on two rival cheerleading squads competing for
the national championships. Her other feature film credits
include Cradle to the Grave,
Breakin’ All the Rules, Deliver Us From Eva, Welcome To
Collinwood, Abandon, The Brothers, Two Can Play That Game, Love &
Basketball, Ten Things I Hate About You
and She’s All That.
Union really stirred things up when she
guest starred as a love interest to Matt LeBlanc and David
Schwimmer on the hit NBC television show Friends. Union marked
the first African-American love interest on the series, which
garnered a lot of press. In addition, she joined the cast
of Steven Bochco’s CBS television drama, City Of Angels, as ‘Dr. Courtney Ellis’ for
one-season.
“We were looking for exactly what
walked in the room. She’s fabulous.
She’s talented. She’s beautiful.
She’s vivacious. When you find all that in
one package you take it. – Steven Bochco
Upon graduating with honors from UCLA,
Union made her television debut on the UPN hit comedy Moesha, which
catapulted her onto the Hollywood scene. With all of
Union’s recent success and talent, it is not surprising
that she is becoming a household name.
Union currently resides in Los Angeles,
California with her husband.
